Doctor Who Christmas Special 2017 Children In Need Clip
It’s that time of year again when the BBC convinces Doctor Who to tease their upcoming Christmas special in the name of Children In Need.
The gruffest Doctor of the reboot series so far, the Twelfth Doctor will meet the original grusmpster Doctor, the First Doctor, in the upcoming Christmas 2017 Doctor Who special on December 25th. Entitled Twice Upon a Time, this is our last go-round with Peter Capaldi and will feature him regenerating into the 13th Doctor, played by Jodie Whitaker by the episode’s end.
But before that, it’ll be a good hour to romp with David Bradley, who fans have been hoping to see play the First Doctor properly since his turn as William Hartnell playing the First Doctor in the BBC Amerca TV movie An Adventure In Time and Space back in 2013 for the 50th anniversary.
In the clip, which was part of the Children In Need’s telethon’s first hour, (as is pretty much tradition by now) the First Doctor enter’s the 12th Doctor’s TARDIS, expecting to see….I dunno, round things maybe? A much smaller, much more 1963 era console? Instead, he gets to check out some good old-fashioned 21st century resign. He thinks he’s going to teach the 12th Doctor a thing or two about who’s Doctor around here, but it turns out the First Doctor could also learn a thing or two himself.
Capaldi with the admonishment for the ages: “You’re seventy feet that way. Always remember where you parked.”
Considering that it’s that time of year when the stress of all the Christmas shopping might cause one to lose hold of exactly which floor of what parking deck they left their car on, it’s a good advice for the season, no?
Doctor Who, The Christmas 2017 Special “Twice Upon A Time” will air on Christmas Day in the UK and the US at 9 p.m. BST and 9 p.m. EST respectively.
