Resortwear 2013: Barbara Tfank
Barbara Tfank refers to her style as “not retro. It’s intelligent.” Retro or intelligent, she’s caught Michelle Obama’s eye, who has worn her frocks to high profile events.
Most people would instantly look at the open frock and say “Season One Betty Draper, is that you?” Obviously this is incorrect. This dress is intelligent, covering up all the parts that need to be covered without looking either dowdy or too sexy. In other words, its intelligent.
I love the use of color in both these dresses, especially the cobalt blue one on the right.
Solids find themselves in slimming pencil-skirt style frocks. Simple, yet bold.
I chose the dress on the left because it was different from all the others, a bit more on the bathrobe side of dress. On the right a dress the FLOTUS could easily rock and no one would say boo.
These dresses are practically timeless. A woman could wear them and look good in any decade, including this one, no matter what her age. That’s what I call “intelligent design.”
For a closing dress, this stem green number is a perfect base for every sort of accessory. Would it be too much to suggest something that is shapes like a flower?
